DON'T BE A FOOL!

I recently saw a post on Facebook saying that now is the best time to prune your trees. In springtime? There is not a worse time to prune your trees than when they are coming out of dormancy and are in the spring flush of new growth. This advertisement highlights the great disparity in education that exists between "landscapers" and certified arborists. If they know that little about when to prune a tree, how will they prune your trees? If you are planning on hiring someone to care for your trees you should use someone who has a complete understanding of how a tree functions, inside and out. Also, if they are going to be in your trees or removing large sections, are the properly insured? Please use your heads when hiring a tree worker. This is a decision you can make only once, and improperly pruned trees are rarely able to be corrected. If you love your trees, have a certified arborist care for them. Don't be caught in the trap of saving a few dollars at the expense of your trees majesty and natural beauty!
